| Student Exchange Karlsruhe 2011/2012 |
The International Women’s Club Karlsruhe has been supporting the German-American Student Exchange Program in financial and practical terms through voluntary work since 1968 under the auspices of its umbrella organization, the FGAC. Funds are provided through proceeds from the Pfennigbasar which was originally created in order to finance the Student Exchange Program. At present two American students in Karlsruhe are looked after by the Club. The co-responding German students are financed through our Scholarship Program and study at a College or a University in the USA. To date we have supported more than 140 students from Karlsruhe and more than 50 Americans. International understanding and tolerance are the aims of the International Women’s Club and by supporting the Student Exchange Program the IWC fulfils one of its principal objectives. Robbie Gruhl Oktober 2011 Ich bin aus Hawley, MN und zur Zeit studierte an Concordia College, Moorhead, MN. In Karlsruhe werde ich Chemie weiterstudieren. Ich freue mich auf viel in Deutschland: neue Freunde, das Studium, und alle die Orte, die wir mit VDAC besuchen werden. Grüße Robbie David Sellinger Oktober 2011 Ich komme aus Hale, einer sehr kleinen Stadt in Michigan. Ich bin sogar im Wald aufgewachsen. An meiner Uni studiere ich Deutsch, Französisch und Geschichte; das alle will ich in Karlsruhe studieren, vielleicht auch mal ein bisschen Musik dazu. Während dieses Jahres freue ich mich darauf, wieder von Deutsch umgegeben zu sein und was Deutsches (besonders bei der Bäckerei) essen zu können. |
